The Law requires that all Members be Trustees and all Trustees are Members. This ensures that each member is fully involved and has the opportunity to participate in the decision-making process of the Fund.

There are special rules relating to Corporate Trustees of SMSFs. The Basic rule is that all Directors of the Corporate Trustee are Members of the SMSF. All members of the SMSF are Directors of the Corporate Trustee.
